My name is Emma and I think the BLM movement is important because innocent colored men and women are being killed by police mainly because of the color of their skin. For example; George Floyd, Breyonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks and many more are all victims of police brutality. I have no personal connection with the BLM movement or police brutality but I think this is unfair and unacceptable, which is one of the reasons why the BLM movement and the fight against police brutality is so important.

Hi, My name is Kassandra, and the BLM movement is important in our generation because people should know and be advised of what is going on in the world, the topic that I will share is Police brutality. Police brutality is one of the situations happening with the BLM movement, many colored men and women will be discriminated by their color of skin by a police officer, there are videos pictures and proof of a lot of police brutality going on around the world and there is never improvement about the situations. My personal connection on this topic is that I've gotten stopped by the police while driving and I absolutely did nothing wrong it was a regular day driving home from work and I got stopped near my house, I'm a Afro-Latina women with color and I got questioned to see my license and registration with insurance demanded and asked if I spoke French and was asked if I owned my car and back then I had a brand new car of the year. I felt very uncomfortable and discriminated that day by the police men. I connect to this topic because of the experience I've had to go through and I'm happy to share it with you guys. You are NOT alone. lets all make a change! #BlackLivesMatter

Hi, I'm laura and I think that the BLM movement is so important because every human in this world has rights no matter their skin colour. Police Brutality is a civil rights violation and people of colour have been treated horribly by police and a lot of people just because of their skin colour. People have protested against it in hopes of change and it still hasn't happened. Police brutality and racism is a worldwide problem that needs to change and people of colour deserve to have rights and be respected just as much as anyone else. I have no personal connection with police brutality I just know that it is unreasonable and unacceptable and it needs to change because innocent lives are being taken because of it.

More about police brutality;
The documented number of police killings has doubled nationwide over the last 2 decades.
There were 800 police-involved killings in the year 2000, rising to 1,700 killings in the year 2014.
84% of police have reported that they have witnessed fellow officers using more force than necessary.
Only 35% of police officers have been convicted in an on-duty killing since 2000.
For every 1,000 people that have been killed by police, only one officer actually gets convicted.
164 colored men and women were killed by police from January 1st, 2020 to August 31st, 2020.
We all support the BLM movement and what it stands for, and support the fight against police brutality.
