This page is run by Connor and Osaretin and we stand for the BLM community to help raise awareness on the history and the solutions to some ongoing problems around us like police brutality and inequalities which we see everywhere around the world. We want our page to give inspiring quotes so when people see something that is not right they will speak up instead of walking past the problem because if nobody is inspired or confident enough to speak up the same thing will keep on happening.
I am Osaretin and I was born in west Africa Nigeria. I moved to Brooklyn, New York in the United-States, when I was about 12 years old. Growing up in the States was very different and unlike in Africa. I was told never to go to a store with my hoodie on because they think I might steal something. This taught me that many race is marked as a target due to the color of my skin. The way people look or way they act, they believe that some race/people are privileged while the others are not. That way of thinking is very wrong. I believe everyone should be treated equally.
I am Connor I was born in Montreal and although I have not experienced unfair equality I have still seen actions of discrimination around me and its awful to think that people are so quick to discriminate on the color of somebody's skin or on what somebody else believes in.
