Social Work Technicians are vital members of the FSSTT, focusing on helping students develop social and emotional learning skills. They advocate for students, diffuse crises, and support self-regulation for success. In their assigned schools, they provide ongoing support to staff, students, and families, and coordinate with CIUSSS, hospitals, schools, and community partners to access services.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing students' self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
Designing and facilitating individual and group social-emotional interventions.
Implementing small group interventions during unstructured times like recess and lunch.
Advocating for students to better understand their needs and behaviors.
Connecting with legal guardians to discuss their child's strengths and challenges.
