Creative Arts Therapists

Creative Art therapists working with the FSSTT  are professionals within the Student Services Department assigned to support students, families and school staff.  Creative Arts Therapy services are offered to students though Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Dance/Movement Therapy.

Creative Arts Therapists use active engagement in the arts to address and support mental, emotional, developmental, and behavioural difficulties. Expressive arts therapies may incorporate art, drama, dance, movement and/or music to help students find a form of expression beyond words or traditional therapy. This creative process allows students to communicate their thoughts and feelings, to reconcile emotional conflict, to develop social skills and to foster self-awareness.
