Week of 4/8 - 4/12

April 11, 2024

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for assisting your child in finding a book for his/her book report.  Please help me remind your child to bring the book back and forth from home to school daily, in order to always have the books available to read.  The reading deadline is April 19th.  The project/presentation due date is May 1st.

As a reminder, next week is Fitness Week. Our class is assigned the color, "royal blue".  Shirts were sent home this past Monday.  Starting on Monday, April 15th,  please dress your child in as much royal blue as possible each day.  Many thanks to Mrs. Tunick and Mrs. Tesar for putting our banner together!  We are the "Fitness Stitches". ("Stitch" from the movie, "Lilo and Stitch".)

On the topic of Fitness Week, enclosed in today's Corrected Work Envelope are three sheets regarding this special week.  The purple "Pledge Card" sheet is due to class by 4/16.  The Rainbow Chart sheet needs to be worked on daily from Sunday through Thursday and turned in on Thursday, 4/18.  The third sheet is an optional contest entry.

Next week, our class will be diving into the world/culture of the early Native Americans.  As a supplement to this upcoming social studies unit, we will soon be taking a field trip to Leonis Adobe to learn more about the Chumash lifestyle.  Enclosed in this week's envelope is the paperwork for this trip. Please read it carefully and turn in the form and donation by the requested due date.

Sincerely,

Mrs. McLoud
