Week of 10/23 - 10/27
October 26, 2023
Dear Parents,
Halloween is upon us in just a few days. Thank you to Mrs. Tunick and our parent volunteers for helping organize a post-parade snack party. I know the students will enjoy it. If you are one of the parents who is preapproved by the district and you are staying to help out with this snack, please make sure you check back in with the office after the parade. They need to know who is on our campus once most of the crowd exits the campus.
Also, on the topic of the parade, please make sure your child comes to school with a change of clothes for after the parade. The parade will begin at 8:15 A.M. Please understand that every child's face needs to be seen, which means masks/face coverings can be held but will not be allowed to be worn at school, even during the parade. After the parade, students will need to change into their regular clothes for the remainder of the school day. (I suggest sending your child to school with a bag, if necessary, to hold the costume.)
Welby Way will be collecting extra candy after Halloween for Operation Gratitude. Please consider having your child bring some of his/her candy back to school in a bag between November 1st and November 3rd. The candy can be brought to the office or our classroom. It will be delivered to our overseas soldiers so that they can enjoy some treats as well.
Also on Friday, October 31st, the students will be culminating a health lesson on types of bullying. We will do this by watching a movie centered around this topic. A permission slip is enclosed in the envelope coming home today. Please fill this slip out and return it to school no later than Tuesday.
Finally, students who passed the 2's test today will receive a 3's practice sheet and can begin practicing the 3's at home. They will be tested on the 3's on Thursday, November 2nd. Students who did not pass the 2's will retest on this date. Your child will be told tomorrow how he/she did on today's test. Stay tuned....
Many thanks for all you do! Enjoy the weekend!
