What are your team’s top achievements from the GirlsBuild project? Our team's top achievements include sustaining our project and Mindful Gardeners GirlsBuild team for the 4th year in a row and continuing our partnership with the East LA Farmer's Market. We also received a certificate of recognition from Hilda Solis' office for volunteering at the East LA Women's Center Resource Fair.

What are the short term outcomes (qualitative and quantitative) to affect change in the community or with the students?
Facilitated a parent workshop on mental health on 5/6/24 and facilitated pot painting activity
Distributed 50 seed planting kits to students for Earth Day 4/22/24
Distributed 100 seed planting kits to community members at the East LA Women's Center Resource Fair on 3/16/24
Hosted a bracelet making activity as a form of self-care to approximately 50 students at our school's Black History Month Fair 2/23/24
Distributed 50 seed planting kits to community members at the East LA Farmer's Market on 2/17/24
Hosted approximately 45 students to a field trip to the GirlsBuild Summit on 11/13/24
Hosted a tote bag painting activity for approximately 50 students and community members at our school's Magnet Fair on 10/21/23
Hosted a Garden Beautification Day with approximately 50 students, parents, and community members on 10/7/24
Hosted a tote bag painting activity for approximately 50 students at our school's Latinx Heritage Month Fair on 9/29/23
What will be in the long term outcomes to the community? One long term impact will be to increase conversations in our East LA community about mental health and to help decrease the stigma associated with mental health. We also plan to continue our partnership with the East LA Farmer's Market to reach our local community with our message "Water your plants, water your mind"
