Welcome to the latest edition of LAB’s Winter Newsletter. Each publication is a delight to read, and the breadth of events and learning opportunities celebrated in each edition always amazes me. This newsletter is no exception, and it is an absolute pleasure to share it with you all.
So far this year, we have had the opportunity to participate in a number of trust wide competitions, often reaching one of the top three places. With the swimming gala and cross country competitions out of the way, we look forward to competing in the next module in the LAT Art Competition, Bake Off and 5-a-side football tournament.
Our LAB16 students have been a great addition to the LAB community, and inspire our younger students on a daily basis. It has been a joy to see them running a netball club, as well as reading interventions and charity events, alongside studying for their Diploma (DP) and Careers Related Programmes (CP). Next module, the Business Studies CP students will be running a number of events to support a Breast Cancer Charity; please do look out for further information in upcoming LABWeekly communications.
We are delighted to inform you that we have been informed by Ofsted that they are using LAB as a case study in their next good practice report on Personal Development. This is a first for LAT and something the entire LAB community is extremely proud of.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very peaceful festive season, and look forward to the students returning on January 2nd 2024.
Best wishes,
E Smith
