Dears Parent and Carers,
As we reach the end of the first two modules and approach the Christmas holidays we wanted to express our thanks to all the students of Fawcett college for being so welcoming and friendly as Ms Joy and I started at the academy. It’s been really nice to get to know so many of them and celebrate their achievements and the college has made a positive start to the year with many students displaying our values on a day to day basis.
We would also like to offer a thank you to the staff members of Fawcett College who have helped us settle in and supported our start to life at LAB. Particularly the tutors of Fawcett college for their commitment to the personal development of their students and their continued care of all in the college. Furthermore, a sincere thank you to Ms Crowley and Ms Lawrence, our SSMs who are a huge support to students and staff in the college.
We would like to offer congratulations to all of those who have strived to attend every day and shown resilience in this regard; particular mention here for 7D who had the highest form attendance in the academy for Module 1. Moreover, Fawcett college has a huge number of students who demonstrate continual scholarship by ensuring they are in lessons and working hard. This can be seen through the fantastic 4202 merits achieved by the college, particular mention goes to Athina (7D), Chloe (9D) and Erin (10A) who have the best conduct points in their year groups. Also 7D who have the most merits in the school, and 9D and 10A who have the most merits in their respective year groups. We had a fantastic celebration of Fawcett achievement at the end of Module 1 with our ‘Pastries on the plaza' celebration, for the student with the most merits in the module with:
7a - Jai Maharjan & Xander Noronha
7d - Zara Ijaz & Wendy Robert
8a - Eliza Abdulla & Gabriel Gogishivilli
8d - Lois Isanzu & Zbigniev Michta
9a - Charlie Harvey & Najiah Abioye
9d - Alex Osborne & Lucas Nicholls
10a - Elliot Bryant & Rosie Derbyshire
10d - Reilly Benson & Kye Grant
11a - Maye Strevens & Jamie Morrison
11d - Oliver Page & Yasmin Hart Robinson
There have also been great contributions to the wider school community by members of Fawcett College. We were very proud of the girls from 11A who led our celebration of black culture through delivery of school assemblies for Black History Month throughout October. Well done to Hafsot, Cherubim, Olivia and Jato. Also congratulations to Erin and Millie, both of 10D, for revising the academy newspaper, the RISAR. Finally, thank you to Macie-Mae (10A) for an amazing display of poppies in the Academy Foyer to mark Remembrance Day.
Have a wonderful break and we both look forward to seeing you in January.
Mr Crawford, Ms Joy & The Fawcett College Team
