Looking for ways to support your child with maths this year? Below are the links to three documents to show what we will be covering in maths throughout the year. In these documents, you will find examples of the types of questions and activities we will be working on during maths lessons.
At Hartley, we have introduced a phonics scheme called Animaphonics. Whilst the majority of our Year 6 children no longer require explicit phonics teaching, some children may still benefit from additional practice. You can find out more information about Animaphonics by clicking on this link.
Here is an updated list of 100 books that are recommended for children in Year 6 to read. We are very fortunate to have many of these books at school, either in our library or in our class book corner. You might have read some of these already. How many can you tick off before the end of the year?
If you'd like to try some different authors, or different styles of books, the posters below may give you a starting point to think about.
Here is a link to some past SATs tests if you would like to do any additional practice at home. We will talk to the children about this nearer the time, although if you wish to do some practice, or simply see what we are working towards in Year 6, these free resources can be super helpful.
