Google Classroom Guidance

All learning tasks will be set on Google Classroom for post 16 options. All students have been given a login for Google Classroom and information on how to access it.

When using Google Classroom ensure you:

  • Go into each classroom to check if there is work set

  • Read all the teachers instructions twice

  • Turn on notifications to receive emails and updates from your teachers for support (Menu>Settings> Notifications)

  • Press 'Hand in' when you have completed your task so the teacher can see it

Have a read of the most recent Pupil Matters issue to find out about some of the outstanding achievements from our Y11s this year, and to find out more information about how to support our pupils in improving their wellbeing whilst working at home.

Wellbeing Support

You may not be in the academy but your welfare is our key priority. You will find a whole section of resources and guidance in our Home Learning Guide for Families if you are finding yourself feeling anxious or upset due to your current circumstances at home.

If you feel you need to speak to someone you can fill in our Pupil Wellbeing Contact Form and someone one from our safeguarding team will be in touch.

Medway Young People Wellbeing Survey

Medway Public Health have been working with Tonic to put together a well-being survey for Medway young people.

They are hoping the survey results will give us a clear understanding of the experiences of young people in the area during lockdown. The results will then enable them to support schools and local services during and after the lockdown period.

The survey should take no more than five minutes.

Peer Support

Why not embrace the idea of supporting one another through messaging in the style of a 'Pen Pal'! In your google classroom pose the idea of supporting one another with this and prompts such as:

  • How are you coping?

  • What have you been doing?

  • Tell them what you have been doing

  • Share some tips of how you've been coping

  • One thing that you've found funny this week
