Led by ACPHS faculty and students from our psychology, forensic psychology and forensic science programs, interested students will have a unique, interactive opportunity to see, hear and decide the verdict in the fictional case of Ignatius M. Innocent.
Designed as an immersive and inspiring day designed for high school and rising college students eager to explore the dynamic world of nursing. This hands-on experience offers a glimpse into the science of nursing and the critical role nurses play in health care.
October 13 (Columbus Day) from 3:00-5:00pm
When attending A Spectrum of Careers, participating high school students will:
Attend a presentation offering an overview of "typical" careers in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology, including educational coursework, licensure requirements, salary ranges, professional settings, and diverse populations served by these professionals.
Observe an occupational therapist, physical therapist, and speech-language pathologist interacting with children as they navigate and play in BOTS' sensory gym.
Participate in a discussion with these professionals. This conversation will target the differences between occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology’s perspectives and approaches that may not have been obvious through observation, as well as respond to the high school students' questions.
Meet with representatives from colleges/universities that offer programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and/or speech-language pathology.
A Spectrum of Careers is designed to target your students who enjoy Biology/Living Science coursework and are considering coursework or careers in other "caring professions," such as (but not limited to):
Psychology
Education
Medicine
Social Work
Childhood Development
