Every student planning on attending college in the following school year must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
You must list every school you are applying to in your FAFSA application so that each school can see your financial information and offer you estimated financial aid. You can always log back in and add more schools.
Every student is encouraged to apply for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). TAP is hosted by the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC).
When filling out the TAP application, you can only send your financial information to ONE school. We suggest filling out the application early in your college application process. In the spring of your senior year, when you know what school you will be attending, log back into TAP and enter the school you are attending so they receive your financial aid.
The SUNY Educational Opportunity Program allows students who have a slightly lower high school GPA and who come from a lower socioeconomic status to be admitted to college with supports to be successful.
Check with your counselor to see if your family income and GPA qualifies you for this program.

*If you are interested in applying for EOP you MUST click "Interested in EOP/financial aid" when filling out your Common App or HVCC application. You will be asked to provide financial information to prove eligibility. Your counselor can help with submitting these materials.*
HEOP is often what EOP is called at private colleges. Each college has its own criteria and admissions process.
