Reception

Reception Classes have been very busy since returning for the new term. The children have been exploring different habitats and landscapes, and have been able to use adjectives to describe a range of animals. They have also learned about special places.

Year 3

So far this term, Year 3 pupils have been learning about different landscapes and environments. The children have identified human and physical features of a variety of places, and have been able to explain what a human and physical feature is. Pupils have compared landscapes over time and listed how these have changed. They have been able to use fronted adverbials, prepositions and commas to describe the different landscapes.

Year 5

Year 5's RE unit this term is 'What would Jesus Do?' The children have looked at what the core messages are in Christianity and how Christians use these to make decisions around how to live their lives. Year 5's central idea is 'Migration leads to diversity'. The children's provocation was to create 'Coprolites' (Fossilized Faeces) using salt dough, paint and some food remains! They looked at the difference between the food remains from the Romans, Vikings and Tudors and discussed how and why our diets changed in Britain at that time.

The children will be giving parents and carers a chance to do their own investigations with these at their exhibition!
