Principal's Message:

We finish yet another very busy week with lots of celebrations.

Throughout this week, the PTA have funded for every child in school to receive age-appropriate first aid training which is an invaluable skill for the children to obtain. The children had a lot of fun taking part and certainly learnt a huge amount.

We also held our first Coffee and Conversation session this afternoon. The focus for this one was around attendance. A huge thank you to those parents who attended and I think they would agree that it was an excellent opportunity to find out information and for us to "bust" so many myths around attendance. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the session and the warm drink was an added bonus! Please keep an eye out for future dates.

Today, our Young Voices choir have visited the O2 Arena for the annual concert. They have been working so hard towards it and were so excited about going - we are looking forward to hearing about how much fun they had upon their return. It will certainly be a long day!

You will have noticed in the news that there has been a lot of discussion around teacher strikes. We have sent you a letter all about this, so please ensure that you have checked the MCAS app under "Important Documents". Please read this carefully and get in touch if you have any questions.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Miss Brading

National Online Safety

We have received warnings about a viral post that is circulating on social media regarding an alleged self-harm 'game' that is being shared on the popular gaming platform Roblox. Known as 'The Game', the post claims that the game appears through private chats, or with children being directed to visit other websites, and to a Word document that contains rules and a set of instructions.

'The Game' is a list of self-harming actions for children and young people to complete, and is alleged to be shared via the Word document on Roblox and Snapchat.

To date, we have been made aware that two images may been circulating on social media; a screenshot of the Word document itself and a photo of a person holding a phone with the document open on the screen. Neither photo has been authenticated but it is claimed there are multiple self-harm prompts and mentions of suicide within.

If your child uses Roblox, Snapchat or any form of social media please be vigilant to the above as, whilst the origins of the posts are unknow, this is causing huge concern among parents, carers and schools. Although safety experts have not been able to substantiate reports on the validity of this so-called 'game' or the number of children and young people who are sharing it, there is great potential for alarm and we consider it our duty to help spread awareness of the trend, without sharing the post itself thus increasing its presence online, so that parents and carers can continue to observe and monitor their child(ren)'s online activity closely.
