Principal's Message

The children have been extremely busy preparing for lots of important assessments that have already started taking place this term. Next week, our Year 6 pupils will be taking their end of key stage assessments (SATs). I am sure you will join me in wishing them the very best of luck.

Please don't forget to share your thoughts about how we can improve our playtimes. We haven't had many responses but now is your opportunity to have your say. We will extend the deadline until Wednesday 11th May. The link is below:

An increasing number of children are wearing the summer uniform. Please ensure that they are wearing short sleeves shirts and not polo shirts. Girls' summer dresses/playsuits should be navy blue not light blue. Please ensure that you are purchasing the correct uniform for this.

We have also noted a number of near misses in our car park. It is everybody's responsibility to keep this as a safe environment for the whole community so please ensure you are only using car parking spaces or the drop off point to pull in. Vehicles belonging to parents and carers should not be parked in the staff parking area. On Wednesday, we had a coach arrive to transport our children to swimming and it was incredible difficult for the driver to pull into this allocated area simply because of parents that had parked there. This will only improve with us all working together.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss S Brading

Office Reminders:

There has been a lot of pupil absence this week due to a stomach bug that seems to be working its way through the school. We have hopefully passed the worst now, but would like to say a huge thank you to all those parents and carers who have contacted the school on a regular basis to inform us of their child's absence.

Due to the number of children absent, this has saved office staff a considerable amount of time that would otherwise have been spent making calls home and trying to reach you to understand why your child is not in school, which we are required to do as part of our strict safeguarding duties for all children.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the school office email address on contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk and it will be directed to the relevant members of staff.

National Online Safety Guide

“Inappropriate” means different things to different people. What is acceptable for one age group, for example, may be unsuitable for a slightly younger audience. Online, young people can chance upon inappropriate content in various ways – from pop-up ads to TikTok videos. The increasingly young age at which children become active in the digital world heightens the risk of them innocently running into something that they find upsetting or frightening.

Trusted adults need to be able to help children be aware of what to do if the are exposed to age-inappropriate content. In the below guide, you will find tips on a number of potential risks such as social media, gaming and adverts.
