This term has been an extension on last term where we were looking at specific parts of World War 2. This term we focused our attention on the D-Day landings and the impact they had in the war and the world at the time. As classes, we watched a short animation about two children re-living their grandfathers experience of the D-Day landings through his letters home. We then retold the story focusing on description and creating the atmosphere. The children were able to create great emotive pieces of work.
In maths, the children have been revisiting and revising elements of the maths curriculum that were either taught within academic year or the year before to help prepare the children for their SATs Assessments. The children were focused and resilient during their assessments. We are really proud of them all!
We finished our class text, which the children have loved. Consequently, we we decided to get the next book in the series - 'Then' - and have started to read on. The children are incredibly engrossed in the story!
