Overview

Without Chromebooks, the District could not manage or afford a full one-to-one rollout across as many grades as we do.

What is a Chromebook?

Chromebooks superficially resemble traditional laptops with a clamshell lid and keyboard. However, Chromebooks are designed to be used with a G Suite for Education account and do not use traditional user-installed Windows-based software. This makes a Chromebook very easy to manage and troubleshoot. The cost for each Chromebook is around $180 – $200 each.

Each student uses their G Suite school account to access their Chromebook. Additionally any student-owned computing device (personal computer, tablet, smartphone) can also access student email and documents. All stored work will be accessible from home, school, and anywhere there is an Internet connection.

We currently use Chromebooks manufactured by HP, Lenovo, CTL, and Dell.

Chromebook Tips

You can extend battery length by dimming the screen.  Choose a brightness level that lets you work comfortably without the screen being too bright.

Close the lid to put the Chromebook to sleep, but select to shut down at night to save battery charge.
