We offer an open wireless network that can be used to connect a personal tablet, laptop, or smartphone. The open network is used by guests to the District as well as by students who are bringing their own devices (BYOD) to school to use for schoolwork.
There are no wireless keys or authentication needed to access the visitor network.
The Visitor network is offered solely as a support for our educational mission. Other uses are not allowed. The District reserves the right to block any connection from a device that the District deems, in its sole discretion, to be using the network inappropriately, excessively, or contrary to our educational mission.
This guest network is named "Fremont1_Visitor" and is available at the following locations:

As of 12-2022, Visitor network is no longer available within the classroom wings.

To connect, open the wireles settings on your device and select Fremont1_Visitor from the list of available networks.
The Fremont1_Visitor network will not require a wireless key, nor is there a "captive portal" click-through page.
Note that "ICloud Private Relay" may interfere with usage of the Fremont1_Visitor network. Most IPads and IPhones have this turned on by default. You may need to turn off this feature under the settings for the Fremont1_Visitor network.
Though this is an open network, there are several limitations regarding visitor network access:
The Fremont1_Visitor network supports the N and AC wireless standards at 5Ghz only. Older devices that do not support the N standard, or only support the 2.4Ghz frequencies, will not be able to connect. Typically, these are devices that are older than 6-7 years old and are very rarely seen on our network.
Devices on the Visitor network are isolated from each other, meaning they cannot communicate with other devices, nor can they communicate with any District internal resource (such as printers, Apple TVs, etc). They can only access the Internet.
VPN applications and related proxy-bypass services are blocked on Fremont1_Visitor. Note that this includes "ICloud Private Relay" which most IPads and IPhones have turned on by default. These types of applications will need to be disabled in order to transfer traffic.
Due to E-Rate and CIPA compliance, content filtering on the visitor network cannot be turned off or bypassed. Exceptions cannot be made to this.
Many social-networking applications (such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, etc) are unavailable on Fremont1_Visitor. Other online services such as Dropbox, Netflix, Hulu, etc are also unavailable. Please keep this in mind when you are planning to access websites on the guest network. The image below shows the categories of websites blocked (as of 05-2023).
