Chrome extensions and Android Apps can extend the functionality of the Chrome browser and other apps.
Staff are able to install extensions as needed.
To prevent students from installing potentially time-wasting and noneducational extensions, all apps and extensions are vetted and added to a special approval list for student accounts.
To see what extensions you currently have installed, you can either go to chrome://extensions/ or in Chrome, click on the top right menu and select Extensions - Manage Extensions.
Some extensions will be greyed out, meaning that they cannot be turned off or removed. These are District-installed extensions for tasks such as content filtering, management, and more.
Students and staff can install extensions
Go to https://chromewebstore.google.com/ and click on the "Fremont County SD #1" banner on the top.
You will then see the list of extensions that have been approved for that particular user. You can click on one to install it. Once installed, it will follow the user on each Chrome device they use, and will keep itself automatically updated.
