With the efforts of our music teachers and generations of choristers throughout the decades, our Mixed Choir has evolved from one of the earliest mixed-voice choirs in the New Territories, gratefully into a choir listed in the world rankings by INTERKULTUR. Recently, the Mixed Choir was honoured to be invited to sing Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 under Maestro Jaap van Zweden in the Season Opening Concert of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Locally, the Choir has always been an active participant and gladly also a frequent prize-winner in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, being named as the Most Outstanding New Territories Secondary School Choir of the Year for more than ten times. The choir has captured seven championships in the Oratorio Class and various top-three prizes in the Urban and First-division Senior Boys’, Girls’ and Mixed Choir Classes.
Since 2008, the Mixed Choir has participated in various international choral competitions in China, Korea, Latvia, the USA and Canada, well recognised by the Gold Medals in four World Choir Games (World Champion in the Mixed Youth Choirs Category in 2010), nationally by the Gold Prize in the 9th China International Chorus Festival in 2008 and the Grand Champion with the ‘Class A Choir’ classification in the 13th Festival in 2016.
