Chinese Orchestra

With its long history of more than three decades, the Chinese Orchestra aims to nurture students' interest in Chinese music through the experience of ensembleship and teamwork. The team have reaped the Gold Prizes in the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows for ten times, as well as the top three prizes in the Intermediate Class of Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in 10 years. We are honoured to have Mr. CHEUNG Hiu-fai as our coach and conductor.

In 2016, the Chinese Orchestra made their first attempt to the Senior Class Contest of the Festival, attaining the Third Prize with a Certificate of Honours in 92 marks. In 2017, they captured the championship for the third time in the Intermediate Class Contest.

The Chinese Orchestra was invited to tour Beijing and Xi'an and perform in the concerts at the Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music in 2014. Locally, the team has appeared on TV, and at the Hong Kong International Airport twice as the guest orchestra for the New Year Celebration and Variety Show.
