Tech Trends

Course Description:

All future jobs will require an understanding of technology. In this course, students will explore past, current, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, basic web design, computer hardware and software, data networks, social media, and robotics. Students will also learn what it means to be a digital citizen while investigating topics related to computers and society. Projects will focus on human-computer interaction, real-world applications, and developing technologies. Through these activities, students will learn which of these areas might interest them for future course selections at Lakewood High School including West Shore career-tech programs along with possible career choices. Please Note: Due to the popularity of the IT and Business electives, Tech Trends will be now be offered during the 2022-2023 School Year.

Google Classroom:

Students will use Google Classroom along with other online learning environments and materials to complete class activities, assignments, labs, projects, and assessments.

Google Classroom facilitates creating, distributing, and completing assignments in a paperless environment, along with providing students 24x7, universal access to course materials. Students can access coursework in Google Classroom from any computing device. Students may also download the Google Classroom App to a smartphone. Course assignments and announcements are regularly posted in Google Classroom to facilitate students successfully and independently managing and completing coursework to better prepare students for college, the trades, and/or the workforce.
