Course Description:

How do you turn an idea into a business? Entrepreneurship will teaam building and collaborative activities, with the intent of increasing How do you turn an idea into a business? Entrepreneurship will teach the skills and approaches to successfully evaluate and create new business opportunities using design thinking, the business canvas model, and lean startup methodology. Students will engage in team building and collaborative activities, with the intent of increasing career and college readiness. This project-based learning course utilizes the Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship BizInnovator Startup curriculum. Students will have the chance to interact with local entrepreneurs and be given the opportunity to research, develop, and pitch their own business ideas. Upon completing this course, students will have an option to earn three college credits through the University of Iowa.

Google Classroom:

Students will use Google Classroom along with other online learning environments and materials to complete class activities, assignments, labs, projects, and assessments.

Google Classroom facilitates creating, distributing, and completing assignments in a paperless environment, along with providing students 24x7, universal access to course materials. Students can access coursework in Google Classroom from any computing device. Students may also download the Google Classroom App to a smartphone. Course assignments and announcements are regularly posted in Google Classroom to facilitate students successfully and independently managing and completing coursework to better prepare students for college, the trades, and/or the workforce.
