2021-2022 will be my fourth year of teaching but my first year teaching at Lakeview High School and it feels great to be a Bulldog again! After graduating from Lakeview I earned my bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science Education at Youngstown State University then I earned my Masters Degree in Environmental Science: Environmental Studies from Montclair State University in New Jersey. While in New Jersey I taught part time as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Kean University. After moving back to Ohio I taught Biology at Niles McKinley High School for three years. This year I will be teaching Physical Science, CCP Environmental Science, and CCP Physical Geology. I look forward to exploring the world around us with all of you!

My name is Mr. Joshua Murphy, and I have been a science teacher at Lakeview High School since August of 2015. I started my career teaching freshman Physical Science until I began teaching Chemistry and College Credit Plus General Chemistry I (1515/L) in 2017. In 2019 we added College Credit Plus General Chemistry II (1516/L) to our science offering.
I am a graduate of Lakeview High School. I studied pre-medicine at YSU before switching to education in my fourth year of college. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Adolescent Education (Integrated Science grades 7-12) from Youngstown State University (YSU) in 2015. In 2017, I earned a M.S. in Chemistry Education, also from YSU.
I was a non-traditional student in college after working 6 years in masonry construction. I am a big fan of skilled trades, but going to college was one of the best decisions I have made. I love teaching in the high school because I get a chance to prepare adolescents for their future in academics and in life.
