Title I-A and Bulldog Bunch

Here at Lakeview Elementary we call our Title I program Bulldog Bunch. We are proud to be Lakeview Bulldogs and we work together to help each other reach our goals.

Title I funding is used to offer support services to students who need extra time and instruction to master grade level curriculum. Lakeview Bulldog Bunch is a Target Assistance School Program.

What is Title I?

Title I Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. The goal of Title I is to provide extra instructional services and activities which support students identified as at risk of not meeting the state's challenging performance standards in reading.

Title I services provided by federal funds are based on the academic needs of students. Here at Lakeview, we have a Targeted Assistance Title program. This means that we provide supplemental Title I services to a select group of eligible children.

Bulldog Bunch consists of additional services beyond what is occurring in the general classroom. We provide quality, individualized instruction by highly-qualified licensed teachers. Bulldog Bunch teachers collaborate and meet regularly with students' classroom teachers in order to coordinate and support the classroom instruction. We work closely with classroom teachers so that when students are at Bulldog Bunch, they are not missing important classroom instruction; and we regularly monitor student progress and share that information with the students, parents, and classroom teachers. All stakeholders are a part of the individualized learning plan.

Bulldog Bunch utilizes effective instructional strategies that are evidenced-based, align with the Science of Reading, and strengthens the core academic program of the school. Please check out the Curriculum tab for more detailed information on the Bulldog Bunch curriculum.
