Cultivates Community Partnerships

Cultivates partnerships within the school and local community (including families and caregivers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public and higher education libraries, businesses) to promote engagement and a community of readers.

Current Practices & ARTIFACTS

Co-plan and facilitate STEAM Field Day, a 4th grade connections day for all area schools that feed into LUHS.
Communicate with Public Library about resources and programming.
Collaborative organization and outreach on STEAM Parent / Teacher Conferences Evening to Lakeland Area Consortium Schools. Reaching out to local community for partnerships with STEAM.
Social Media presence in Twitter and Instagram to reach beyond school walls.
Serve on WVLS Library Advisory Committee (LAC), representing School Librarians in a five country area.

OPPORTUNITIES for Growth

Collaborate with the public library for youth programming.
Expand community outreach of STEAM night.
Establish a Librarian network for the Lakeland Area Consortium Schools.
