In this video we review the relationship of size to sound (small things make high sounds, big things make low sounds) and review the song Helicopter Pilot.
In this video, you will learn a new song and how to make a new kind of hand turkey!
Today I read you one of my favorite stories and we review a song we learned last time! When you are finished, go back to Seesaw and answer a question about today's lesson!
See you good you are at identifying sounds that are high and low!
Join me and learn a new song!
This is just a fun little animated song about high and low!
First, watch the video about high, medium, and low sounds!
Then listen to the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. When you are done, go back to Seesaw to answer questions about the story!
Below are links to three videos. They all talk about sounds that are loud and sounds that are quiet. You can watch all 3 if you like - they are all different. I would like you to be sure to watch the third one, "Mr. Mike's House". Near the end of the video is a song about loud and quiet sounds. Use your sticks from your instrument kits to play the STEADY BEAT with the song! When the music is loud, play strong, and when it is quiet, play quietly! Remember, the beat doesn't go faster or slower, it just stays the same!
The video on the left is a lesson about steady beat! You can choose an instrument from your instrument kit to play along in the video! When you are finished, go back to Seesaw and tell me what you learned about the beat!
Today for music you are going to listen to a story. The story goes along with some very famous music. After you hear the story, you will listen to the music and do some actions that go along with it! We have been talking about loud and soft in music - notice how the music starts quiet but gets louder and louder! Something else also changes with the music. Go back to Seesaw and tell me what it is!
Here is a fun new song! You can watch the video to help you learn it! I like the big loud ending...do you remember a Halloween song with a loud ending?
The link above is a great music site. Today, your job is to click on the link. Depending on what device you are using to do your work, you will fine a list of games either going down along the right hand side, or going across the screen when you scroll down a bit. Look for the game called "Loud Quiet Game". Click on it! You will hear a piece of music. Your job is to decide if it is loud or if it is quiet. Click on the answer. There are 10 examples for you to listen to. When you are finished, please go back to Seesaw and let me know how many you got correct!
Click on the video above! You will be doing a lot of Halloween costume actions - try to keep a steady beat!
This is one of my favorite Halloween songs! The pictures may be a little spooky so you can turn the computer around and just listen :) You hear some spooky ghost sounds that start high and go low. After you listen once to hear those spooky "ooo" sounds, go back and listen again, this time can you make the "ooo" sounds too?
For today's music, you will be using your body, the instruments in your kit, and an instrument that you find at home to add sounds to this story!
clomp clomp - stomp your feet
wiggle wiggle - use the pool noodle scrapers
shake shake - use the egg shaker
clap clap - rhythm sticks
nod nod - tap two spoons together (the bottom of the bowl part of the spoons)
boo boo - find something from home to use as a drum - boxes or plastic buckets work great!
Click on the video above for a song about the different ways that we can use our voices!
Watch the video - am I using a speaking voice or a singing voice?
Watch the video. Am I using a singing voice or a speaking voice?
Today you will be showing me how good you are at telling the difference between singing voices and talking voices! Check out the two recordings below that review the ways we can use our voices, then go back to Seesaw to do your activity sheet online!
We are unable to send a hand drum home. You know what works pretty well though? A shallow round tupperware (or similar) container, or even an icecream bucket. They won't sound exactly the same, but the technique can be practiced. You can even try using a lid from a round container if it is not too flexible. Go back to Seesaw and make a video of yourself playing the hand drum!
You watched this video for music on Monday. Watch it again, and have your homemade hand drum ready to play the beat with the song!
We have been talking about keeping the beat! This fun video review what the steady beat is and there is a fun song that you can keep the beat to. After you have watched it once, you MAY want to go back and keep the beat with one of the small instruments in your music baggie!
Today you are going to review the song Apple Tree that you started last time. You will need the rhythm sticks from your bag of instruments. Listen carefully and follow along with your classmates with some different ways to echo the song! When you are done, go to Seesaw and record a short video of yourself singing the words "apple tree, apple tree" and then use your sticks to echo the words!
Last time we looked at some pictures that show the different ways we can use our voices. Can you figure out which picture shows a...
talking voice?
whisper voice?
calling or shouting voice?
singing voice?
practice saying your name using each of these voices. Then go back to SeeSaw and send me a video of yourself saying your name using all four of these different voices.
Hello! Your music work today is in three parts. First, sing along with our Wildcat 4 song! Second, listen as I read a story about a hippopotamus that likes to make a lot of noise! Third, you will be introduced to a new song. Listen to the recording and follow the directions so you can sing along!
You have three jobs today! First, our song that begins every music class! Second, you get to listen to a story and help by adding in animal sounds! Finally, we get to sing a song that uses some animal sounds! This song may be familiar to you from last year if you were here at La Farge. If not, you can join in on some of the parts that you hear repeated!
