Week 1

Discuss innovations/inventions

•Take a look at some examples – inventor mentors/innovation ideas. Students will corresponding

response sheet.

Students write down 2-3 classmates they may want to work with, and anyone they feel they would

not work well with, so teacher can make partnerships.

Week 2

An introduction to Advertising Draft and digital version 

• Complete Product Proposal student handout page.

• Create a specific, labeled drawing or diagram of product.

• Students can choose to create a prototype.

• Teacher continues to assess using Collaboration Rubric and makes notes on the Final Project Rubric.

Teacher reviews these rubrics with students.

• Students self-reflect by using the self-reflection page.

• At the conclusion these first stages, teacher can choose to provide students with their graded

collaboration rubric and gives suggestions for improvement for the rest of the project.

Week 3


• Show some Shark Tank pitch examples: Kids Pitch Brilliant Products to the 'Shark Tank' Tycoons!

• Go over requirements and pitch checklists. Students will use the checklist to self-reflect and give peer feedback as they practice. They will be graded by the teacher using the same checklist.


• Students will write their pitches using the graphic organizer.


• Students will practice with their partner and also with other groups to get peer feedback.
