When a gifted student is actively receiving formal services, the student is provided with a WEP. The WEP is annually viewed and updated as long as there is a formal gifted service. In order for a student to be formally served, they would need to have small group time with a Gifted Intervention Specialist and/or differentiated material in the regular classroom with a general education teacher with up-to-date training in gifted curriculum and instruction. In Knox County, our local school districts use Same Goal, a platform to write, sign & view educational documents like a WEP. Please view the video if you need assistance with viewing and signing a WEP assigned to your student.
