The Knox Educational Service Center (ESC) seeks grants and donations from Ariel Foundation, Knox County Foundation, and individual contributions. Due to the generosity of these donors, the Knox ESC to be able to provide scholarship opportunities for our gifted-identified students in Knox County. If students apply for and receive the Knox ESC scholarship, families would only be responsible for $100 of the total cost. This often saves families $400 or more per student attending summer camps with our partnering colleges.
Gifted-Identified High School Students from Knox County (East Knox, Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown & Mount Vernon) have attended Ohio Northern University's summer camps for many years. Click the button below for their reflective thoughts on their individual experiences.
Mount Vernon Nazarene University is working to develop a summer camp program for 2023. The Knox ESC plans to collaborate with the university to encourage local students to explore experiences close to home. More information coming soon!
March - Informational letter sent home to parents of gifted-identified high school students in Knox County school districts with invitation to informational meeting.
April - Informational meeting to be held in Mt. Vernon, explaining the application process & subsequent logistics.
May - Registration & payment details submitted. Parents can expect communication from college programs.
June/July - Students attend summer camp.
August - Students submit reflection assignment as part of agreement to being a scholarship recipient.
