On Science Day, we tuned into Year 2 boys learning by exploring a variety of forces and energy to prompt their initial thinking around motion and forces through different activities.
As students rotated through these different activities, each student was given the STEM Activity Logbook to fill in as they explored forces and energy.
Through these activities we were able to assess students’ thoughts, feelings and understandings about the topic, reveal students’ misconceptions (so they can be explicitly addressed), help students personally connect to the topic and generate wondering questions and goals for learning throughout this unit.
