Mystery/Thriller
The forest was unnaturally silent, save for the crunch of her boots on the frostbitten leaves. The dense fog swallowed the moonlight, and shadows twisted into shapes that didn't belong.
Fantasy/Adventure
The golden spires of the floating city shimmered in the dawn light, casting ripples across the sea of clouds below. From the balcony, the wind carried the faint hum of wings—dragonriders on their morning patrols.
Dystopian/Sci-Fi
The sky was the color of ash, and the air hummed with the static of broken neon signs. Beyond the ruins, the distant drone of automated sentries was the only sign that anyone—or anything—still lingered.
Romantic/Whimsical
The café on the corner seemed to exist in its own little universe, bathed in the soft glow of fairy lights strung between its ivy-covered walls. The scent of cinnamon and freshly brewed coffee danced on the crisp autumn breeze.
Horror/Gothic
The manor loomed over the cliffside, its dark silhouette carved against the blood-red sunset. Each window was an unblinking eye, staring out at the crashing waves below, as if guarding secrets long buried.

The STEAL model
for character analysis
Remember that:
character analysis involves examining not only what characters say and do,
but also their motivations, growth arcs, and
relationships with other characters.
Analyzing these aspects will give you a deeper understanding of the characters' roles within the story and
their contribution to the overall themes and narrative.
