About the process and hopes for the future

I had the joy of co-writing a paper with an incredible team of doctors on Artistic Pain Exploration (APE), using art as a medium to understand and communicate pain. Inspired by Munch’s The Scream, we explored how visual art can unlock patients’ experiences and deepen connections with medical professionals.

I look forward to seeing how this research can contribute to the field of pain management and help create a more equitable and supportive healthcare system. Having faced a range of physical hardships myself, this work is deeply personal; it reflects my own experiences with how many current medical systems overlook the nuances necessary to truly explore and understand an individual’s pain.
