Post Operative Care

During my final year at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I collaborated with Dr. Razan Baabdullah, a maxillary surgeon whose work explored the intersection of medicine and art. Over two years, we developed Art as a Bridge: Using Paintings to Enhance Pain Assessment and Communication in Medical and Surgical Practice, a paper examining how art can serve as a visual language for understanding and managing pain. What began as a series of sketches evolved into a larger study and ultimately, a shared vision for how artistic intention can facilitate empathy and healing within medical spaces.
