In this last project for 2nd year Design, students will work in groups and make a 3D Art Planter from a type of waste of their choice. A waste based 3D art planter? The planter's goal is to raise awareness about waste, using art and plants as a communication tool. What's the relationship between waste, art, and plants? Good question.
1) It is easy to say that we humans produce too much waste. Let's try to convince others to reduce waste. Let's also get some very specific numbers about our waste...how much is wasted per second, etc?
2) Famous art can be used as a communication tool and most of it is old and in the pubic domain
3) Plants have a special way of making us relaxed and reducing stress (science, yo!)
(Oh, and the Japanese government says we need to cover plants in the 技術の学習指導要領 so we kinda have to)

The bilingual rubric for this term. Most students will do this one and it is a half report. Students will only do Ai & Aiv, Bii & Biii, Cii & Ciii, and Diii & Div.
The full rubric. If I talked to you about getting your grades up in class, this is the full ABCD rubric you will use.
