Cain Pineapples

The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality; it’s used in the spirit of welcoming one another into our school “homes.”

Step 1: Invite Your Colleagues In -- Complete the Form

Tell us about something interesting you are teaching—a topic, an activity, or a strategy—and what time of day you are doing it. Other faculty will be able to see the Cain Pineapple Calendar to see when they should visit your classroom and observe you and your students. #observeme #foreverlearner #CAT5 #collaboration #risktaking

Step 2: Find A Classroom To Visit

Check out the calendar below to find a class to observe. The calendar is updated twice a day, and the chart below updates automatically after a form is submitted. Check back often!

We will also post the chart/calendar on Schoology, on screens around campus, and more.

Step 3: Brag on Your Co-Workers!

Use the Padlet wall or FlipGrid below to reflect on the positive things you observed on your Pineapple visit. Here's your chance to brag on your co-workers and tell about all the awesome things they're doing! It doesn't have to be anything spectacular... a little recognition goes a LONG way! (The brag board is NOT required... just encouraged!)

Place this sign outside your door on days you're open for visits.

#Observeme

Some teachers have decided to mix Pineapple Charts with the #ObserveMe movement in order to request feedback on specific things in their classroom. If you're interested, check it out below.

#ObserveMe Template

#ObserveMe

Teachers can make a copy of and edit the #ObserveMe template and post it outside their door on days when they are requesting feedback.

You can request feedback on any aspect of your classroom that you want, or leave it open. You can create a Google Form, a Flipgrid, or a Padlet wall in which you ask observers to give you feedback. You can even do a paper feedback form if you'd like. The possibilities are endless!

PLEASE NOTE: #ObserveMe is NOT required for anyone. It is just an option that is available for teachers who are looking for constructive feedback on their classroom activities.
