We are delighted to share the highlights of our recent Annual Christmas Fair & 30th Anniversary celebrations held on Saturday, 25th November.
The sports field transformed into a warm and inviting space, featuring a tree-lined pathway adorned with 30 creatively decorated trees, showcasing the artistic talents of our students.
The day was marked by laughter and enjoyment as parents, students, staff, and visitors immersed themselves in a variety of activities. Children delighted in jumping castles, a merry-go-round, face painting, pottery painting, bead making, and the joyful sounds emanating from the trampoline. Our primary and secondary students showcased their musical prowess, captivating the audience with melodies and rhythms that underscored their dedication and hard work.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Year 6 class organized a lively karaoke session, reflecting the students' creativity and camaraderie. The Hiccup Circus brought an extra layer of excitement, leaving children wide-eyed and thrilled, while parents had a chance to unwind and enjoy a relaxing time with friends.
A standout moment was the impressive dance performance by our ancillary staff, whose dedication and enthusiasm illuminated the event, highlighting the diverse talents within our school community.
The bustling marketplace, featuring 84 vendors, provided an early Christmas shopping opportunity for parents and visitors, offering a diverse array of products and treats. The fashion show stole the spotlight, showcasing elegant dresses and accessories, adding a touch of glamour to the celebration.
Special recognition goes to our Year 11 students for their exceptional efforts in managing the raffle, raising an impressive 1,135,000 Uganda Shillings. These funds will be directed to the International Red Cross for relief aid in Israel and Palestine.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Your enthusiasm and support have made this Christmas Fair and 30th Anniversary celebration truly memorable. Ms Tracy.
On Thursday 23rd of November the whole school celebrated Maths day. Students from every year group contributed to the construction of tetrahedrons, leading to the construction of an example of a fractal based on the sierpinski triangle. The secondary students joined in with students from the primary school to create a chalk walk of patterns and numbers, linking up all year groups. We also had Maths stations placed around the secondary school, where students were able to participate in sudoku puzzles, logic problems and brain teasers. Mr JJ encouraged students to complete a wall sized pascal's triangle and the entrance to the school hosted a popular estimate the candy jar. Kenny from year 10 was the closest with a guess of 197, the exact number was 192. The mathematics department also hosted a Maths assembly where Mr Jude conducted a bearing activity, where students and teachers tried to accurately follow instructions blindfolded. A house logic puzzle competition was also tackled by mixed year groups. Mr Wintle.

As part of our 30th-anniversary celebrations, we launched a tree initiative, offering 30 Indian Almond trees for purchase at $100 each. The proceeds from this initiative will contribute to the Oncology Ward for Children at Mulago Hospital, the USPCA, and the Hope4Katanga Children's Projects. The YR6MT class and students of the gardening club have actively participated in the planting of some of these Indian Almond trees. At present, we have 10 trees remaining for sale.
