Role Play Situations in Early Years
Kindergarten 1&2 Taking Off!
Role play situations are some of the opportunities that we create for children to be able to express and communicate their ideas;
Pretend play helps children to foster social and emotional development as well as physical development.
The children in Kindergarten 1 and 2 have this term been exploring the transportation theme; where they looked at the different means of transport.
One of the role play activities they were involved in was; “Going on a pretend flight”.
They all came dressed in their travel clothes and had a small carry-on. On board, we had the passengers, the pilot and co-pilot, flight attendants and before boarding the plane their documents had to be checked and stamped by the travel agents’ officers; and every passengers’ luggage had to be checked.
Every passenger was provided with a seat number and had to find a seat that had a number that matched the one he or she was given. After sitting down they had to fasten their seat belts.
At sett-off time, the children heard a loud sound effect of a plane taking off; this was set up on the class computer. They all had a wonderful experience.
Well done Kindergarten 1 and 2!

Dear Parents
Let's dive into the magical world full of learning adventure in Reception VG !
To begin with, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents for participating during Science Week and carrying out experiments for the students. Our wonderful scientist students dressed up in their costumes had a charm of their own. Thank you parents for also taking part in enhancing students' understanding of the world by sharing knowledge about the month of Ramadan and Holi festival. From crafting beautiful cards to sharing goodies with all the children, we've loved learning in-depth and exploring different concepts. Your contributions have made our classroom come alive with creativity!
We also thank grandparents visiting us at school and spending time with children in their classroom.
But that's not all! This month has been full of excitement for our little learners:
Language week has been truly enlightening for children to learn about different languages and understand that we are united even after belonging from diverse cultures.
Our children also had the incredible opportunity to visit the Anam Cara Farm to extend their learning about farming, tools and animals that help in the farming process and how we get the finished products from farm to supermarkets.
Our days are filled with wonder, creativity, and endless learning opportunities. We can't wait to see what Amazing April has in store for us!
Kind regards
Varsha Gurbani
Our Reception children ended Term 2 by consolidating their learning with a trip to Anam Cara Farm. Field trips provide children with tangible experiences, developing their knowledge and understanding of the world, making learning more engaging and memorable. Furthermore, field trips promote critical thinking, enhance observation skills and nurture a sense of curiosity and wonder. The children enjoyed exploring the farm and caring and feeding the farm animals for the day! The highlight of their experience was definitely riding on Zack the farmers tractor!
