Reception Presents: The Litter Muncher!
May brought us our Reception production—an incredibly special morning! The audience was captivated by the children’s performance. The story began with the Litter Muncher working tirelessly to keep Lazy Daisy Village clean despite the villagers’ laziness.
When the village became filthy, the mayor stepped in and made sure everyone tied up their trash properly. The villagers then learned the importance of keeping their village clean. Our little ones spoke with great clarity and confidence, sang, and danced—it was truly a magical experience. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them!

Happy, Sad, Angry, Worried: Our Emotional Exploration
During the Personal, Social & Emotional Development (PSED) session, the children engaged in meaningful conversations about their feelings. They were encouraged to express how they feel in different situations using simple but powerful emotion words such as “happy,” “sad,” “angry,” and “worried.” The session helped the children begin to recognise and name their emotions, an important step in developing emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
To support this learning, the children participated in a creative activity where they painted and drew what their feelings looked like. Some children used bright colours and smiling faces to show happiness, while others chose darker shades and stormy scribbles to represent anger or sadness. This creative expression provided a safe and supportive space for children to explore their emotions and communicate them visually.
As they shared their artwork with the class, the children also began to understand that everyone feels differently and that it’s okay to talk about our emotions. This session not only supported their emotional development but also encouraged empathy and connection with their peers. It was a valuable opportunity for the children to learn more about themselves and each other in a warm and inclusive environment.

As we are nearing the end of KG3 we are honing in on all the skills our children need to be ready for Reception Year.
The children are encouraged to cut each and every day as an entry activity. Cutting helps build the small muscles in their hands, especially the palms because their hands are continuously being worked in this activity.
Cutting improves hand and eye coordination and encourages the use of bilateral coordination, the ability to use both sides of the body together in a coordinated way.
The children have fun cutting different shapes, snipping bits of paper, cutting in a straight line and much more. The children are learning the importance of cutting from left to right and starting to cut from the top to the bottom.
Most recently the children have been cutting their beautifully decorated donuts. Cutting in the morning proves to be the best way to exercise our fine motor skills!

Seasons
This term, our topic is Seasons, and we've been working hard to make the lessons fun, meaningful, and engaging. The children had a wonderful time experiencing autumn by walking in the rain with umbrellas, raincoats, and rain boots.
They also enjoyed chopping mangoes and mixing them with yogurt to make ice lollies—giving them a sweet and chilly taste of winter! To explore spring, we went on nature walks around the school, spotting flowers, grass, and all things green.
We can’t wait to reveal our exciting summer activity… it’s a surprise

Barnyard Moosical
The "Barnyard Moosical" production was truly an unforgettable experience! The children did an absolutely amazing job, showcasing their hard work, resilience, patience, cooperation, team spirit, discipline, and attentive listening.
Each and every child shone brightly on stage like a star, and we couldn't be more proud of them. They have shown us that with belief in oneself, anything is possible.
Thank you for inspiring us and proving that great things happen when we work together with passion and dedication!
