Whispering Peaks
Mt Everest, oh so tall,
Reaching heights above us all,
Snowy peaks and icy trails.
Where the wind uncovers mysterious tales.
Whispering through a mountain peak,
Secrets only a mountain can keep,
When the stars begin to gleam,
Mountains join our nightly dream,
Awake at sunrise, dreams lift and fly,
A brand new day with the blink of an eye.

Earth Day in Year 4
To celebrate Earth Day, the year 4 students not only arrived dressed in vibrant Earth-themed slogan shirts and colours, but also explored the wonders of renewable and solar energy. In 4DA, students constructed solar oven models, tested how they worked, and enjoyed a delicious snack straight from their oven. Meanwhile, the 4EP class created an informative script about renewable energy to present at Friday’s assembly.
The students also took part in paper-free activities, including decimal maths using whiteboards and manipulatives, as well as designing Earth Day slides to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our planet—not just on Earth Day, but every day. So, let’s all remember that each of us plays a role in keeping our planet the special place it is, by looking after it with care!

Key Stage 2 Inter-house Athletics
The Key Stage 2 Inter-house Athletics event brought the field to life with excitement, energy, and team spirit. With both track and field events happening simultaneously, the grounds were filled with cheering, running, jumping, and throwing as students gave their all for their Houses.
On the track, sprints and relays showcased determination and speed, while on the field, pupils impressed with their strength and technique in the shot put, javelin and discus events. High jump and long jump added to the thrill, with students pushing themselves to new personal bests.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the tug of war, where Houses battled it out with grit and determination. The roars of encouragement and the united effort from each team made it a crowd favourite and a true display of teamwork.
Teachers and House masters supported the students throughout, helping to create a fun, inclusive, and well-organised event. While some earned points for their House, every child walked away with a sense of achievement for their effort and sportsmanship.
A big thank you to the PE department and all staff who contributed to the day’s success. Congratulations to Otukei House for emerging as the overall winners! Your teamwork and perseverance truly stood out.
Well done to all students for your energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork!

Year 6 Shine Bright in Term 3 Assembly!
Our Year 6 students took to the stage this month to share the highlights of their Term 2 learning journey in a special assembly for parents and the whole primary school. With confidence and creativity, they presented what they’ve been exploring across the curriculum.
In Maths, they impressed everyone with their growing understanding of algebra, explaining how they’ve been using letters and symbols to solve problems. In Science, they took us on a journey through the circulatory system, showing how the heart, blood, and vessels work together to keep our bodies moving. They also brought our learning on light to life with hands-on demonstrations that wowed the crowd!
