Year 1 VG- Digital Citizenship Week
April has been an exciting month, filled with celebrations and special theme days. Year 1 VG students have kept their spirits high, enthusiastically engaging in all the activities. During Digital Citizenship Week, children engaged in discussions and activities to help them become safe, responsible, and respectful users of technology.
They learned about the importance of protecting their personal information, being kind online, and using technology in a balanced way making sure of leaving a mindful digital footprint online. They also contributed to the hashtag wall with their comments of kindness.

Year 1 VG- Our Power, Our Planet!
We also observed Earth Day on 22nd April, by discussing why it is important to care for our planet. Children learned about simple, everyday actions they can take to help the environment, such as turning off lights, saving water, and recycling. As a class, we took a pledge to protect the Earth and wrote down the small steps each of us can take to make a difference. It was a meaningful and reflective experience for all.

Year 1 VG - Grandparents Day- Hands That Held Us, Hearts That Guide Us
To celebrate Grandparents Day, the children wrote heartfelt letters to their grandparents and elderly family members, expressing their love and appreciation. We were delighted to welcome some grandparents into our classroom, where they spent quality time engaging with the children and shared love and laughter.
The exciting part was hearing their fun and thoughtful responses to the interview questions thoughtfully prepared by all the students.

Mini Classroom Project and Book Week Celebration
Mini Classroom Project and Book Week Celebration
Our Year 1MN enthusiastic and talented students took part in a special Mini Classroom Project and Book Week Celebration with a powerful message: Our Power, Our Earth! The children proudly became young researchers and environmental ambassadors as they explored creative and meaningful ways to protect and preserve our planet.
Each student worked on an individual poster project, which included designing informative and eye-catching messages to raise awareness about key environmental issues. Topics included saving water, reducing plastic waste, protecting endangered wildlife, and planting more trees to support a greener future. The classroom buzzed with curiosity and purpose as students shared their research and presented their posters to their peers, encouraging everyone to take action for the Earth.
As part of the Book Week festivities, the students were bursting with colour and imagination and dressed up as their favourite book characters! From courageous superheroes and magical wizards to adventurous explorers and talking animals, every costume reflected the children’s love of books and storytelling. They proudly spoke about their characters and the lessons they learned from their favourite stories many of which linked beautifully to caring for the world around us.
Well done, everyone

Year 2CN Unit on Fables
For the past four weeks, Year 2CN students have embarked on a delightful journey into the world of fables. It's been an adventure filled with talking animals, surprising twists, and those little nuggets of truth that stick with you long after the story ends.
We all lit up as soon as we discovered the secret recipe of a fable: a short, engaging story with a valuable lesson tucked inside. And the characters? Oh, the characters! We've met cunning foxes, boastful hares, patient tortoises, and even a rather lazy lion – all brought to life with their own quirky personalities and contrasting traits. It’s been fascinating to see how these animal characters help us understand very human qualities.
Our classroom has echoed with the tales of "The Frog and the Scorpion," the unlikely friendship in "The Lion and the Mouse," and the nail-biting race of "The Tortoise and the Hare." We've chuckled at "The Lazy Lion" and outsmarted "The Sly Fox," diving into countless other fables that have sparked our imaginations and taught us valuable life lessons along the way.
But the learning didn't stop at just reading! Inspired by these wonderful stories, our 2CN learners put on their author hats and have crafted their very own fables. Following the patterns and magic of the stories they loved, they penned tales filled with their own creative characters and meaningful messages.
To celebrate this incredible journey, Year 2CN showcased their learning in an assembly presentation. They brought their learning to life through captivating role-plays, joyful songs, and proud readings of the fables they themselves have written. It was a heartwarming showcase of their understanding, creativity, and confidence. A huge well done to our brilliant students for embracing the world of fables with such enthusiasm and bringing their own stories to the stage! It’s been a truly memorable few weeks.
