Third and fourth class did an experiment to explain waterproof materials. They took a look at how fabrics can be made waterproof and used vaseline on cloth to make it waterproof.

Children explore the fact most inks are made from a mixture of colours. Separate marker inks using paper chromatography and use the results to create spooky Halloween art.

Can we save our snowman?

Testing materials to find the best insulators. The children in Seniors and First were tasked with finding which material would keep their snowman hand from melting as quickly. We kept one free of any insulator to compare against. Tested tin foil, cling film, woolly hat, metal box.

Fourth Class looked at creating a waterproof layer on a fabric and compared two fabrics, one with and without the layer. We also learned about natural oil in sheep's wool. We learned that oil and water do not mix

Fourth Class were investigating what happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda.

Second Class were investiagting what happens to an egg when it is left in vinegar!

Second were making chemical reactions with baking soda,vinegar and food colouring. The volcano was made with flour and water and molded.
