12.1 Art Visit

Visit – visit the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff and look at the Gallery 7 “The Power of the Land: Landscape Painting in Wales”. Create a written report of what (500 words or presentation) about the way the paintings in this gallery are displayed – are they group chronologically or by theme for example? 

12.1 Art Do

Attend a weekend workshop at Cardiff Pottery https://www.cardiffpotteryworkshops.com/weekend-workshops  and evaluate (500 words or presentation) the experience and the work made.

12.1 Art Watch

Watch Simon Schama’s ‘Power of Art ‘ Episode 5 (Turner) on BBC iPlayer and then feedback either as a 500 word written document or in a presentation form on the themes presented by Schama and your opinion on his presentation of Turner’s paintings.

12.1 Art Read

Read essay 1 of John Berger’s ‘Ways of Seeing’ https://www.ways-of-seeing.com/ch1  write a report (500 words) or create a presentation about what you have learnt about the importance of creativity in human society.

12.3 Art Techniques

Create a realistic and abstract response to the theme of ‘Human Form’ using any chosen media/combination of media. Compare and contrast these outcomes in an evaluative manner.
