Career pathways empower students to tailor their educational journey and achieve goals that go beyond high school. A career path represents a wide range of careers with similar traits and employment requirements. The U.S. Department of Education has identified 16 career clusters to guide students in exploring their career interests. Our district's career pathways streamline these 16 clusters into four broad, adaptable paths, fostering academic growth and exploration. This approach highlights how careers within each path share common values and objectives, making it easier for students to understand and pursue their future aspirations.
These descriptions offer students an opportunity to reflect on possible career pathways of interest. Students may have career interests that extend beyond the descriptions provided. The information below is not intended to be a thorough representation of career options but a general overview and exposure to generalized career areas.

Career pathways are not intended to lock a student into a career or a prescribed set of high school courses. However, they are to serve as a guide when selecting courses and when working with counseling staff to develop a post-high school plan. Students should begin reviewing these pathways during their 8th grade year when selecting their high school freshman courses and should continue to use this guide as a resource when making scheduling choices during their high school career.
