During the first year of the IB Standard Level Diploma a course you will be investigating three different approaches to psychology to give you an interesting and broad knowledge base on the vast subject of learning about us!

The Biological Approach focuses on investigating the brain, learning the parts of the brain, the role of neurotransmitters, hormones, genes and pheremones.

The Cognitive Approach looks at how our mental processes guide behaviour, and at the different brain processes such as perception, thinking, problem solving, memory, language and attention.

The Sociocultural Approach investigates how human behaviour is influenced by the culture you are part of, the need for you to belong, and how your own social identity is important to the very definition of who you are.

In the second year of the course you will investigate areas of Abnormal Psychology such as PTSD, Depression and Bulimia.
