Level 3 Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Business Studies

Key information:

  • Equivalent to 2/3 A levels

  • 8 or 13 units

  • 18 Month Programme

  • Internal and External Assessment (Unit 2,3 and 6)

Level 3 Business Studies provides students with an in depth knowledge of the Business environment as well as a range of transferable skills (communication, perseverance, self motivation). Recognised as the equivalent of 3 A levels, this course will enable students to successfully transition to the next stage of their career path.

The new specification at Level 3 provides a credible, useful and highly sought after vocational programme of study for students to follow, providing a high degree of relevance for both continued study and the world of work.

Students will get the opportunity to study a range of topics from Business Marketing, Environment, Support, Accounting, Finance and Recruitment and Selection. The broad range of topics covered in this programme gives a solid foundation of knowledge that students can apply to a range of different Business disciplines at College, University or Higher Level Apprenticeships.

This course is designed for those who wish to gain an understanding of the dynamic world of business. You will explore a range of business services and gain experience through a work placement. On completion of the course you may choose to specialise in one area and continue to study at university or at the College on a HND in Business.

Extended Diploma (1080 GLH)

  • 3 A Levels

  • 13 units

  • 7 mandatory units

  • 6 optional

  • supports progression to Higher Education and employment
