Frequently Asked Questions about the Business Sales certificate program:
How many courses are there? The program consists of two courses: BUSN 640 and BUSN 641.
How long is the program? Each of the two courses are typically run over 6 weeks, making the program 12 weeks. There may be some semesters when the course is shorter or longer, so be sure to check the program dates.
Are there live (online or in-person) sessions? Yes. We will typically meet 3 hours online each week with the professor using Zoom videoconferencing. It is important to make sure you look at the course description to see what day and time we will meet to ensure you have that time available in your schedule.
How many hours a week? In addition to the online Zoom sessions, students typically work additional hours outside of these meeting times working on course projects and assignments. You can complete this work at any time you want during the week. The professor will be available during the week to provide feedback and instructional contact to help you successfully complete this work.
What date do students need to log in by? You will receive a message for our class in Canvas as early 5 days before the start date. Expect a welcome message via the email you have registered with the school as well as your Canvas Inbox.
What if I need a computer device? You can visit SDCCE's Rising to Success page to learn about many of our free resources, including opportunities for computer devices.
What is my responsibility in week 1? When the class is published, you will have access to begin engaging in the course. There are check in activities that must be completed the very first week to avoid being dropped (see online syllabus for specific dates). Target dates are stated on the assignments. Prepare to receive Canvas Inbox messages to remind you to stay on task.
Is there a required textbook? No. There is no textbook. All course content material will be available in our Canvas course.
What materials do students need to have in week 1? We need our computers and mobile devices to access our class.
