Welcome, 7th grade protégés and mentors! Mentors, Inc. @ Kid Power is excited to introduce you to our program! During this time, protégés are likely preparing for their next and final year of middle school. This comes with many changes and we hope that protégés and their mentors can use these provided resources to make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible!
For the coming year, protégés will have to get used to changing classes, meeting new peers and teachers, and managing new school material.
Here are some tips and tricks to tackle the new year.
Get used to organizing your materials! Using folders and planners to document what you have to do will keep you on top of new assignments!
Creating a routine can help you keep on track with your work! Setting aside specific times for homework and relaxing will keep you balanced!
Building good study habits now, will help you a lot in the long run! Here are some study tips to maximize memorization and help you maintain grades!
Select a consistent place to study
Don’t wait until the last minute

Review class materials consistently
Talk about assignments with friends
Don’t be afraid to ask teachers for help

Use your mentor as a resource🫂: Your mentor has lots of valuable experience and advice to share. Asking them questions on problem areas you may have is a great way to build new and helpful habits! Here are some questions to start you off:
