Our Mission: To create a collaborative partnership between teachers, students, parents and community members, where students gain efficacy through critical thinking, civic and financial literacy, analysis of social, political, and economical events and policies in order to understand the past to engage and participate in civic responsibilities.
Our Vision: Our Social Studies Department envisions differentiated curriculum and instruction to integrate and prepare students to become informed, responsible, and valued contributors to society. We strive to have students analyze historical events in regards to changes and continuity in the human condition across cultures. Learning is promoted through reading comprehension and skill development designed to prepare students to function in a democratic society.
